Recall information (June 11th, 2018)
“Kia is recalling more than 500,000 2010 through 2013 models due to the risk that the air bag and seat belt pretensioners might not deploy in the event of a crash.
The recall includes 2010 through 2013 Forte, Forte Koup; 2011 through 2013 Optima, and the 2011 and 2012 Optima Hybrid and Sedona vehicles. In all, Kia is recalling 507,587 vehicles, according to documents posted in the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration.
When combined with a previous recall from affiliated automaker Hyundai for the same issue, the affected number of vehicles is closer to 1.1 million. Hyundai recalled about 580,000 2011 through 2013 Sonata, and 2011 through 2012 Hyundai Sonata Hybrids for the same issue back in April.”
